Position Description: Kidzeum seeks a results-oriented and exuberant professional with expertise in graphic design as well as generating new, innovative ways to market and advance organizational growth. The Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator will be key to the development, integration and promotion of the Kidzeum, and to uphold the museum’s brand integrity. The position works in conjunction with the Assistant Director and Visitor Engagement Coordinator to ensure the marketing needs of each department are balanced, aligned with the mission of Kidzeum, and met in a timely manner. This role requires the ability to manage project timelines and budgets. Due to the needs of being a nonprofit, the Marketing Manager must be flexible and willing to assist in other areas of the museum.

The ideal candidate for the Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator position will be both a self-starter who can also successfully collaborate with a team, and have a strong graphic design background to show. The schedule for this position requires flexibility and is dependent on the museum’s marketing needs. Availability on weekends is a must, and the position occasionally requires working evenings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- With the help of the Assistant Director, is responsible for overseeing all marketing and public relations efforts of the museum in a way that prioritizes creativity, community participation, and continual analysis/iteration of activities

  • Plan, execute, and continuously oversee marketing strategies and advertising campaigns that drive interest and results in increased revenue for the museum by
  • Using project software to communicate with team, maintain timelines and update project lists
  • Corresponding with local media outlets
  • Sourcing materials and working closely with printing vendors
  • - Create engaging and visually appealing content across all marketing channels

    - Design all graphic artwork for the museum

    - Cultivate ideas and translate conceptual input into designs while maintaining a high level of quality

    - Maintain and updates museum’s Style Guide and ensure all materials adhere to museum brand

    - Develop brand awareness and maintain brand integrity

    - Manage design budgets and exhibition and design-related purchase orders and invoices

    - Write entertaining and well-informed social media posts

      Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent work experience
      • 3+ years of graphic design experience
      • 2+ years of experience executing marketing strategies
      • 2+ years of social media management
      • 1+ year(s) of project management experience
      • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop required; ability to learn other Adobe Creative Suite apps as needed
      • Strong understanding of current marketing concepts, strategy and best practices for reaching diverse audiences across platforms
      • Excellent creative writing, editing, proofreading skills
      • Experience working with children preferred
      • Excellent communicator who is comfortable engaging with individual visitors and large crowds
      • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage a variety of responsibilities under pressure
      • Goal-oriented with the ability to analyze data and provide action-oriented plans
      • Ability to work well with different teams as well as independently
      • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
      • Nonprofit experience a plus
